Alices Cottage (sleeps 5) is a recently built, sandstone, award winning cottage with a Silver award in the Green Business Scheme and accessibility level 2, hearing level 1 ratings from Visit Britain. Its facilities make it ideal for disabled travellers.

The cottage is one of two luxury holiday cottages - see also Nellys Cottage which sleeps 6 - located on the owner's traditional working hill farm. It occupies a peaceful, elevated position with panoramic views over the Weardale Way. The land around the farm is registered as a Site of Special Scientific Interest due to the unusual fauna and flora and it is possible to see rare birds like curlews and lapwings.

The cottage also holds Cyclists and Walkers Welcome accreditation and there are many National Cycle Network routes in the area. The historic town of Hexham is a 30 minute drive away and Alston, the highest market town in England, is 20 minutes away by car.
